On May 15-19, 2024, students of the Executive MBA program of the Wrocław University of Economics had the opportunity to participate in a trip as part of the Swiss Gateway to International Business module to Université de Neuchâtel in Switzerland.
Students had the opportunity to participate in lectures given by professors from the University of Neuchâtel, who shared the secrets of the Swiss success story: culture, values and politics. One of the most important points of the program was a visit to BMS Bristol Myers Squibb – a global biopharmaceutical company that was the first to introduce modern immunotherapy in the treatment of cancer. Meeting with Reto Randegger – General Director of the branch in Switzerland was an excellent opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable practical information.
However, the visit to Neuchâtel was not limited only to academic classes and a visit to the company. The organizers also made sure that students could learn about the culture and history of the region. A trip to Swiss Gruyère cheese’s capital and the town’s picturesque surroundings and Lake Neuchâtel was organized. Evening integration meetings enabled the establishment of closer relationships between the trip participants and the exchange of experiences in a less formal atmosphere, allowing at the same time the discovery of local and seasonal flavors.
The trip ended with a gala dinner at the DuPeyrou Hotel. In these unusual circumstances, not only the partnership between universities was celebrated, but also the extraordinary involvement of EMBA Program Students in projects prepared as part of the Swiss Gatway to International Business module. The evening ended with speeches by the authorities of the University of Neuchâtel – prof. Jean-Marie Grether, author of the module Prof. Dr. Kasi Jagodzinskiej and Director of the EMBA ProgramProf. Mai Kiby-Janiak, who emphasized the importance of international academic cooperation.
During the evening, there were also numerous conversations about the future of education and business, which allowed students to exchange views and experiences. Common experiences will certainly contribute to the further development of the professional careers of EMBA Program participants and will strengthen cooperation between universities.
The visit to Switzerland was not only a valuable lesson in business and management but also an unforgettable adventure that will remain in the memory of all participants for a long time.
